  Chidima Ubah

My name is Chidima Ubah. I’m 12 years old, and I’m in the 6th grade. I have been singing and living for the Lord since I was about 4 years old. I attend Kleb Intermediate School in Klein, TX. I am in the Student Council, choir, and Cubs for Christ, which is an organization where Christians throughout the middle school meet every other Wednesday to pray, share praise reports and learn more about God.

I really want to share my God-given talent with the whole world. The way I see it is: God gives everyone their own individual talent, so why not go share it with the world? Even the people that are so caught up with false gods would benefit from our talents and turn to our savior Jesus Christ.

Some of my interests are: singing, acting, modeling, and reading. My number one inspiration, besides God, is my Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Connie Braziel. She inspires me to just be who I am, and to do my best. I hope God will continue to bless her with wisdom.

No matter what happens in this competition, I will give it my all, and in the end, give God all the praise and honor and glory He deserves. I pray that He will use me for his kingdom.

  Diana Schleusz

My name is Diana Fermina Garcia-Prieto Schleusz. I am 17 years old. I am from the country of El Salvador. I started to sing like 3 years ago. When I was little I didn't sing, because I didn't know that I could do it. When I was 14 years old, I wanted to know if I could sing, so my parents, who have always supported me, paid for singing classes for me. The teacher told me that I was good so, after 2 months of classes (one day per week), I gave my first concert at a church on Christmas! I was very nervous, but God helped me, and the people liked it.

After that, I started going to the Opera of El Salvador. I was in the choir of the Opera!! There, they gave me classes and we did some presentations, and that is how I started to sing at the Theater and in concerts with the opera, orchestra, at the church, and at schools. At the beginning I was always very nervous. The first time that I sang my whole body was shaking, but after some performances, my whole body didn't shake anymore, just my leg! God has taught me a lot of things, and I can say that the only reason that I sing is to glorify Him!!!

In May of 2006 I went to the Oral Roberts National Competitions in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I competed in classical solo and in contemporary solo , and God gave me first and second place, and also He gave me the opportunity to come to study in Houston, at Clear Lake Christian School. Right now, I am in the children's choir at the Houston Grand Opera, and that has been a great opportunity and experience, but what I like more than all the concerts and the operas is to sing to God!!!! All that I do is for Him, because my voice is for God's glory! What I want to be is not a great and professional singer; what I really want to be is a great worshiper of God, and a servant!! All the fame and shows, are nothing in comparison to singing FOR God and TO God.

Since 1998 Patricia has been preforming the music of the Mariach along California's Peninsula from Oakland to San Fansisco to Hollister.

A native of San Anonio, Texas raised in San Jose CA, Patricia's passion for the music of the Mariachi was first heard when she was honored as Most Talented for her performance of la cancion "Los Laurels" in the Miss Santa Clara Country Pageant. From that time Patricia has promoted Spansh Speaking radio stations and hosted various community events such as the Annual San Francisco Multi-cultural Ethnic Festival to Cinco De Mayo Celebrations and special holidays celebrating the Hispanic cultures.

As a young college student her focus was jolted from the secular to the sacred as she had a revolutionary experience with Jesus and accepted him to be her Lord and Savior.

Patricia's emotional and energetic enthusiasm reflects the tradition which defines the Music of the Mariachi and lifts up the All Powerful Name of God. In her own words, "Join me in celebrating the Music of the Mariachi and Give God Praise for the Nations of Latin America" Que Viva Mexico!

I started playing the piano when I was twelve, and since that time, God has shown me time and again that music is a ministry that I need to be involved in.

Everybody has a talent that seems to come naturally to them; music is mine. My church has been very encouraging of my musical talents. I started playing the keyboard in our church band when I was 16. After playing with the band for 3 years, I moved to playing the piano for our three worship services. It has been a wonderful 5 years serving the Lord in this way. In addition to playing the piano, I play guitar and lead the youth in worship on Sunday mornings. I also love to sing in the choir.

There are many things that I felt I wanted to do with my life, but I must remind myself that “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). That surrender provides amazing peace for my future. Where ever God may choose to lead.

I give my life to you, Lord. Take it, and use it for your glory and honor.

As a result Gene gave his life to Christ and the furthering of his kingdom.

  Mollie Jackson

Music has always been a vital part of Mollie’s life.  Her natural father, W. F. McCary (BillyMac) was a country western singer and composer. At the age of 9, Mollie began playing the piano for the Girls Auxiliary at church.  At approximately the age of 10,  First Baptist Church of Groceville set aside a special Sunday to debut Mollie as a singer. Since then, she has had many other highlights. Currently, Mollie is the pianist for Plantersville Baptist Church which is a historic church located in Plantersville, TX.  Also, she sings and plays at different functions and nursing homes.

God has worked several miracles in Mollie’s life and she would like to "Thank God and give God the glory."  On March 17th, 2002, Mollie’s right hand was crushed with a log and the index finger was caught between the edge of the log and backhoe.  Many friends dropped what they were doing and prayed over her hand as she rushed to the hospital.  Later, the enemy still tried to take Mollie’s finger by having it becoming very badly infected on Good Friday.  About two months later, the Doctor and the Conroe Regional Medical Center Occupational Therapist said that it was a miracle that she had 99% mobility in her finger.  At that date, Mollie was the only person that had her hand crushed that they witnessed walking out of the hospital being able to move it.  Praise Be to God.

Believe in God……Expect a Miracle……

I started singing solo in 1989. I have always loved to sing all types of music but Southern Gospel is in my heart. When I am down, I just start singing and praising the Lord and before you know it my spirits are soaring.  Music is a ministry that can reach the lost and backslidden.  I was not serving the Lord for many years but I would go listen to my brother sing.  He and two of my sister-in-laws were in a gospel band.  After several months of attending their concerts, the Holy Spirit convicted me that I should be attending church services as well as the concerts. I began attending church and rededicated my life to serving the Lord. I made a commitment to God that if He would open doors for me to sing, I would walk through those doors and do my very best.

I am President of the WMU Association at my church as well as Director of AWANA. In addition to singing and my duties at church, I own my own CPA firm in Humble.

God Bless each and every one you.

  Barbara Martin

Barbara Martin is a native Texan, the youngest of five children born to Rev. Oco (Bill) and Winnie Norris. She accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in her early teens. Over the years, Barbara has been very active in the local church where she has taught in the Sunday School Department and has directed children's and teen choirs. She is also a soloist/songwriter, and for many years sang in duets, trios, ensembles and the adult choir as well. She is currently an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.

Barbara has ministered in various nursing homes in the Houston/Metropolitan area. There, the Lord has blessed her ministry with many of the elderly coming to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ. She lives in Houston, Texas with her husband of fifty-one years, Gerald David Martin, Sr. They are parents of four adult children, fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The ministry of Barbara A. Martin is a faith ministry created and organized for the purpose of sharing the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and restoring the Christian values that made our nation great. Now, because of the discovery of her granddaughter, Tina's extremely serious congenital heart defects, Barbara has extended her ministry to also include Benefit Gospel Concerts.

Barbara has always had a deep love for America and fully believes our beloved country was given to us by God, blessed and chosen by Him to be a "city on a hill" to shine forth the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. Now, because we have been lulled to sleep by Satan, America is on a downward path and she has turned her back on Almighty God; however, God has promised us in II Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Barbara appeals to ALL Christians through the writings of our forefathers, Christian and Patriotic songs written in the early days of our country, as well as new Christian and patriotic poems and songs of faith and freedom. She urges them to heed, obey and claim God's promise given to us in II Chronicles 7:14. Barbara believes that if we do not heed, obey and claim II Chronicles 7:14, our nation will surely perish.

Barbara is a member of the Bay Area Gospel Music Association (BAGMA) and the Association of Performing Christian Artists (APCA). She is available to sing at church services, gospel concerts, patriotic rallies, benefits, etc, wherever the Lord is lifted up and glorified, and wherever He opens the door.

  Tennille Allen

Hi, my name is Tennille Allen. I was born and raised in Clear Lake, Texas. I'm 29 years old. I want to thank the Lord I'm free today through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. God opened up doors for me to recover my life back.

Today, God has given me a song to sing to share my gift with the world to bring forth deliverance and healing to those who are broken, wounded, and have lost all hope. I'm a living witness, testimony, and miracle that Jesus changes lives because I really should not be here today after all I have been through, the Lord gave me a new walk, a new mind, a new attitude, and a new way of life-living for Jesus.

Those people who are broken and wounded I hope these words can uplift and bless their souls and hearts because God can make a turnaround in a dark situation and he is in control of all things and he makes all things work together for the good of those that love God and are called according to his purpose.

I am Michael Sterling. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. My first experience with singing publicly was in my elementary school choir in the 2nd grade. I went on to being involved in a city-wide boys choir by the name of “The Singing Boys of Houston” during both my 5th and 6th grade years.

Since then, I’ve continued to pursue a musical career. I have been playing acoustic guitar for 37 years. My greatest musical influences when I first began playing were James Taylor, Jim Croce, the Eagles, Bread and America. My ultimate goal is a full-time traveling music ministry sharing my personal testimony as well as the original Christian Music material which I received over the course of an extremely debilitating disease which I suffered with for 68 years. I am now cured due to the grace of my Lord, Jesus. He deserves all the praise and Glory!

  Duke Browning

Whether it is for one's life, one's love, or one's faith, those who listen to Duke’s music will find his songs positive, inspirational, and encouraging. Professionally performed both vocally and instrumentally by Paramount Group, the songs on this album are universal and timeless that the audience will enjoy listening, and perhaps singing along, now and in the years to come.

Duke's love and passion for music began as a child when Duke left Vietnam and came to the United States the day the Vietnam’s war ended in 1975, but the initial English language barrier prevented him from further pursuing his dream of a career in music. Upon his arrival in the United States, learning English was Duke's top priority; thus, with his passion for music, Duke found a fun and enjoyable way to learn English by starting out with several music albums that had the lyrics printed on the record covers. These records included Barry Manilow’s “I Write The Songs,” John Denver’s "Back Home Again," Seals & Crofts’ "Diamond Girls," Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” Jim Croce’s “Photographs & Memories”, and several more. It did not take long before Duke had the Vietnamese translations written all over the printed lyrics of those record covers so that he could figure out the meaning of the songs.

After many years of pursuing other dreams in the United States, it seems natural for Duke to fulfill one of his first dreams in life, writing songs. "It is a great honor and a tremendous privilege to have the opportunity and ability to do what you once wanted to do. This is true not only of singing songs, but anything, any dream in one's life.” In a recent letter to Duke, one of his first friends in the U.S. wrote: I remember teaching you how to sing “I Write the Songs” by Barry Manilow shortly after you arrived. Little did we know where your love for that song would take you.

Duke graduated from Washburn School of Law, in Topeka, Kansas, and is licensed to practice law in Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from Hope College, in Holland, Michigan, his Associate Degree from Muskegon Community College, Michigan. Duke is fluent in oral as well as written English and Vietnamese. Duke, his wife, and their three daughters are members of the Holy Covenant United Methodist Church in Katy, Texas.
